Vijayawada: In an unfortunate incident, a final-year postgraduate medical student died recently under suspicious circumstances at the Vijayawada GGH. The medico was pursuing Anesthesiology in the Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Medical College. Taking cognizance of the incident, an inquiry has been ordered by the authorities.Earlier, the YSRCP NTR District Doctors demanded that the government order an inquiry into the death of a PG final year student of Siddhartha Government Medical College.YSRCP NTR District Doctors Wing Chairman Dr.Ambati Naga Radhakrishna Yadav said in a statement that the YSRCP Doctors Wing is deeply shocked and grieves the suspicious death of a final-year PG Anesthesia student at the college, reports UNIAlso Read:NMC says Granting FMG registration as per HC order ‘Arbitrary Relaxation’- Andhra medical council files review pleaThis tragic incident demands an immediate, impartial, and thorough investigation to uncover the truth and ensure justice, he said.
“We strongly urge the State Government and authorities to conduct a comprehensive probe without any delays or cover-ups, holding all responsible parties accountable,” Dr.Yadav demanded.
Therefore, in view of the growing suspicions surrounding the sudden death of the doctor, Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav has ordered NTR district CP SV Rajasekhar Babu to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the incident, adds The New Indian ExpressHe directed officials to thoroughly ascertain the cause of death and ensure that strict action is taken against those responsible if any negligence or lapses are found.The minister also held discussions with the GGH superintendent Yedukondalu to gather details regarding the student’s health condition and the circumstances that led to the incident.Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and conducted a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.As part of the investigation, police are questioning hospital staff and collecting evidence to establish who was with the student during her final moments and to assess her health prior to the incident.Also Read:Vijayawada: MBBS student found dead in hostel room, probe launched
