LONDON — Novartis said Friday it was buying an experimental breast cancer drug from Delaware-based Synnovation Therapeutics for $2 billion upfront.
The deal includes includes up to another $1 billion if the drug reaches certain milestones.
The drug, an oral medicine called SNV4818, is currently in a Phase 1/2 study in HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. It is designed to target a mutated form of the PI3Kα enzyme while avoiding the normal version of the protein found in healthy cells. Continue to STAT+ to read the full story…
