A large-scale illegal food unit preparing samosa under highly unhygienic conditions was busted in Hyderabad by the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team along with Kulsumpura Police on March 20, 2026. The raid in Jiyaguda revealed that the unit, operated by Abdul Rasheed, lacked mandatory approvals such as FSSAI licence, trade licence, and fire safety clearance. Officials found the use of spoiled ingredients, including stale boiled eggs and repeatedly reused cooking oil, posing serious health risks to consumers, reports NDTV.Authorities seized adulterated food, raw materials, and machinery worth around ₹5 lakh, including large quantities of prepared items and ingredients like maida and sweet corn. The premises were described as “grossly unhygienic” and far below safety standards. The accused has been arrested, and legal action has been initiated under food safety laws. Officials urged citizens to report unsafe food practices, reiterating strict enforcement against adulteration and illegal food manufacturing.
