Lucknow: In an unfortunate incident, a 69-year-old BAMS doctor allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his licensed revolver at his residence in the Civil Lines area of Sitapur district on Friday afternoon.According to media reports, the deceased, a BAMS doctor who ran a clinic in Khairabad, had lunch around 1 pm before going to his room on the first floor. Shortly afterward, his wife, who was downstairs, heard a gunshot. The licensed revolver used in the incident has been seized, and forensic evidence has been collected. Officials said the practitioner’s wife was in deep shock and initially unable to record her statement.Police sources added that the doctor had not been speaking much at home for the past two weeks. However, the exact reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.Police Circle Officer Vinayak Gopal Bhosale said that, prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide. A neighbour said, “He was always smiling and never seemed worried about the future.
