Gonda- The ongoing shortage of cooking gas across India has now spread even to medical colleges and council schools. Due to disruptions in the supply of commercial gas, the mess at a medical college located in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, has remained closed since Sunday afternoon.Consequently, a total of 200 MBBS students are being forced to order food from outside. The situation had not returned to normal even by Monday evening. In this regard, Mess Operator Hemant stated that continuous efforts are being made to procure gas cylinders, but supplies remain unavailable. As a temporary alternative, an order has been placed for the fabrication of a coal-fired stove so that food services for the students can be resumed as soon as possible. The Medical College administration has also written to the gas agency requesting the supply of cylinders.Hospitals and educational institutions will be granted permission for the supply of commercial gas upon receipt of applications from the concerned agencies.
