Researchers have found in new study that use of magnification loupes in RCT enhances precision and procedural efficiency. This leads to improved clinical outcomes and greater patient satisfaction.Root canal treatment (RCT) is a vital procedure in endodontics aimed at preserving teeth by removing infected pulp tissue and effectively sealing the root canal system. Success depends on precise cleaning, shaping, and obturation, but challenges like limited visibility and intricate canal anatomy often result in procedural errors, including missed canals and perforation. To address these challenges, magnification tools, such as dental loops, have gained popularity. These tools enhance visibility, allowing clinicians to navigate complex canal systems more accurately and reduce errors. Research indicates that magnification can improve treatment outcomes, efficiency, and operator ergonomics. However, while operating microscopes have been extensively studied, clinical evidence evaluating the effectiveness of dental loops remains sparse. This study aims to assess the impact of magnification loops on treatment duration, procedural accuracy, and patient satisfaction, providing critical insights into their utility during RCT.A clinical trial involving 100 patients was conducted, with participants divided equally into two groups: those treated using magnification loops and those treated conventionally. Treatment duration, procedural errors, and patient-reported satisfaction were assessed. The loop-assisted group demonstrated a 25% reduction in treatment time and significantly fewer procedural errors (P < 0.05). Patient satisfaction scores were higher in the loop group compared to the conventional group. Magnification loops enhance the efficiency and accuracy of RCT, leading to better clinical outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.Reference:Shetty, Chitharanjan1; Sravya, Kodithala2; Bhawalkar, Abhilasha3; Dubey, Alok4; Kala, Tejaswi5; Sethy, Prachi6.
