New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has appointed two new inspectors under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, authorizing them to exercise powers across the entire country.According to a notification issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on January 6, 2026, Yamini Gaur and Kumari Sugandha have been appointed as inspectors in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 21 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.The notification states that the inspectors will be empowered to exercise the powers and perform the duties specified under Sections 21 and 22 of the Act, as well as the rules framed thereunder.The notice states, “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940), the Central Government hereby appoints the following as Inspectors for the purpose of the said Act for the whole of India, namely:-S.
