New Delhi: In a major update for PG aspirants this year, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), NBE has released the tentative exam dates for NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026.According to the notification issued by the NBE on its official website today, January 22, 2026, the cut-off date for completion of internship for NEET PG 2026 candidates has been fixed as September 30, 2026. The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode at various test centres across the country on August 30th, 2026.In the same notification, NBEMS also announced the tentative schedule for NEET-MDS 2026. The dental entrance examination is likely going to be held on May 2, 2026, with May 31, 2026 set as the internship completion cut-off date.NBEMS clarified that the detailed information bulletin for both examinations, including eligibility criteria, application timelines and examination guidelines, will be published separately on its official website in due course.The notice read:Tentative schedule of NEET-MDS 2026 and NEET-PG 2026:National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) shall conduct the following examinations on a Computer Based Platform at various test centers across the country: –Sr. No.Name of ExamCut-off date of completion of internshipTentative Exam Date1.NEET-MDS 202631-05-202602-05-2026 (Saturday)2.NEET-PG 202630-09-202630-08-2026 (Sunday)Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the list of examinations, the schedule of which has been released by NBEMS, included NBEMS Diploma Final Examination – December 2025, FMGE – December 2025, FDST -MDS 2025, FDST-BDS 2025, Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT)-2026, Fellowship Entrance Test (FET)-2026, Post Diploma Centralised Entrance Test (PDCET)-2026, DrNB Final Examination April 2026, NBEMS Diploma Final Examination June 2026, DNB Final Examination June 2026, and FMGE June 2026. In the notice, NBEMS also mentioned that the tentative schedule for NEET-MDS 2026 will be notified separately.Even though the tentative dates for almost all the major exams held by NBEMS were mentioned in the examination calendar, the aspirants were anxious that there was no mention of the upcoming PG medical entrance exam.To view the official notification, click here
