Goa: Goa University has given a student another chance to appear for her Third Professional (Final Year) MBBS Part II examination supplementary. This decision was taken after a student from Goa Medical College approached the Bombay High Court.According to the student, she appeared for her third professional (final year) MBBS Part II examination (supplementary) in April-May 2025, but was unable to complete the exam due to medical issues that were beyond her control.Also Read: Alkem Labs Slapped Rs 2.34 Cr GST Demand in GoaOn this, senior advocate A. Agni, representing Goa University, stated that the university, considering the specific facts and circumstances of the case, has decided to give the student another opportunity to take the examination. However, the examination schedule will be announced in due course to allow the student sufficient time to prepare.Meanwhile, the High Court dismissed the petition, stating that “We clarify that in view of the submissions made by the respondents’ counsel as noted above, none of the issues raised in the petition have been considered by this Court on their merits and they are left open”, reports TOI.Meanwhile, last year, Medical Dialogues had reported that the Bombay High Court recently asked the Goa Government to respond in a plea that sought directions to the Goa University for re-evaluation of the answer sheets of 18 students of the Goa Medical College. These students appeared in the third year (final year) MBBS Part II (supplementary) examination held in April-May 2025 and were declared to have failed the test.In their plea before the High Court, the counsel for the students, advocates Abhijit Gosavi and G Kerkar, submitted to the High Court that there were serious discrepancies in the declaration of the results concerning the examination.
