New Delhi: GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited has received a tax demand order amounting to Rs 6.92 crore from the Maharashtra GST authorities for the period April 2022 to March 2023.According to the disclosure, the order has been issued by the Additional Commissioner, CGST & Central Excise, Mumbai Central. The order dated February 17, 2026 raises a total demand of ₹6,92,76,478, which includes tax of ₹3,46,38,239 and an equivalent penalty of ₹3,46,38,239, while the interest amount has not yet been quantified.Also Read:GSK arm Tesaro initiates litigation against AnaptysBioThe company, GSK, stated that it received the order on February 20, 2026. The demand relates to the alleged non-payment of GST pertaining to the export of services.The company further noted that the order has not yet been uploaded on the GST portal and was received physically.GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited stated that the tax demand is not expected to have any impact on its financial operations.
