According to an Odisha TV news report, the doctor misbehaved with a patient who had come to the hospital for treatment. When bystanders started recording the incident, the doctor allegedly became more aggressive and shouted even louder.

It has also been reported that the doctor has a history of rude behaviour, and similar complaints were earlier made to higher authorities.

After the video circulated widely, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) acknowledged the allegations and said that complaints against the doctor had been received in the past as well.

The Nayagarh Sub-Collector is already conducting an inquiry into earlier complaints. Officials said that after discussions with the District Collector, appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

Speaking to Odisha TV, Nayagarh CDMO, Pushpa Nilima Lakra, said, “I will now discuss this matter with the District Collector, and action will be taken as per his directives. We are here to provide treatment to patients; misbehaving with anyone is not desirable. If Dr *** is found guilty, he would certainly face punishment.”
