Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD), including conditions such as acute glomerulonephritis, diabetes-induced chronic kidney disease, and other chronic kidney disorders, are significant contributors to global mortality and disease burden. Notably, kidney diseases rank as the eighth leading cause of mortality, the tenth cause of years of life lost, and the tenth cause of disability-adjusted life years across both sexes and are among the fastest-growing causes in the region. CKD poses a substantial and escalating global health challenge, affecting one in ten individuals worldwide and having profound implications for individuals, families, and communities. The disease markedly increases the risk of cardiovascular complications, diminishes quality of life, and may progress to kidney failure, necessitating life-sustaining kidney replacement therapies such as dialysis or transplantation. Early detection is crucial for saving lives. At the 78th World Health Assembly, the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted its inaugural resolution on kidney disease. This landmark decision prioritises kidney health as a global public health concern, formally recognising World Kidney Day and advocating action on prevention, awareness, treatment access, and environmental risk reduction. In 2026, various national and international nephrology societies will organise scientific sessions that will convene kidney care professionals, including nephrologists, general physicians, renal pathologists, transplant surgeons, and students from around the world, to exchange knowledge, showcase groundbreaking research, and engage in regionally relevant scientific sessions on topics including the following:• Acute Kidney Injury – Mechanisms, and Biomarkers• Chronic Kidney Disease Diagnosis, Complications• Diabetic nephropathy, Drugs and Treatments• Urologic Disorders• Haemodialysis, and Peritoneal Dialysis• Special Challenges in the Burden and Management of CKD in Developing Countries• Cancer Therapy and Kidney Disease• Essential Hypertension and Renovascular Kidney Disease• Kidney Transplantation and Transplant Immunology• Promotion of kidney health and strengthening prevention and control of kidney disease• Real-world evidence, large-scale registries, and guideline-shaping clinical trials dataThese sessions will enable collaboration and knowledge exchange among kidney care specialists, thereby strengthening evidence-based practice and translating scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes. Below is an overview of the 2026 conference calendar, highlighting key nephrology scientific sessions across India and globally (Table 1).Table 1: Comprehensive List of Nephrology Conferences Worldwide and in IndiaS.No Conference TitleDates Location Nephrology Conferences, 2026- Global1.45th Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant – American Society of Nephrology (ASN)29th – 31st January 2026San Diego, California2.6th International Renal Pathology Conference11th -14th February 2026Antigua, Guatemala 3.17th Nephrology, Renal Medicine & Renal Care – Nephrology Asia 20269th -10th March, 2026Dubai, UAE4.ERA Education – Sarajevo, 2026Third ERA Education Meeting, in collaboration with the Society of Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation in Bosnia and Herzegovina13th – 14th March, 2026Bosnia & Herzegovina, Southeast Europe5.Renal Pathology for the Nephrologist – Imperial Faculty of Medicine, London19th -20th March 2026London, UK6.International Conference onNephrology & Urology – Nephrology 202623rd- 24th March 2026Berlin, Germany7.22nd World Nephrology Conference – World Nephrology 202626th – 27th March, 2026Amsterdam, Netherlands8.6th International Conference onKidney Failure & Renal Care – Kidney Care 202626th – 27th March, 2026London, UK9.4th International Renal Conference 2026 – UK Kidney Association (UKKA)27th -28th March 2026, Brugge, Belgium10.World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) 2026 -Co-hosted by the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN) and the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN) 28th – 31st March 2026Yokohama, Japan11.Artificial Intelligence in Nephrology Conference – ASN (American Society of Nephrology)23rd – 24th April, 2026La Jolla, California12.European Nephrology Congress (ECN) 202627th -29th April, 2026Paris, France13.National Kidney Foundation (NKF) 2026 Spring Clinical Meetings (SCM)7th -10th May 2026New Orleans, Louisiana 14.63rd European Renal Association (ERA) Congress3rd – 6th June, 2026,Glasgow, Scotland15.27th Global Nephrology, Urology and Kidney Failure Congress15th – 16th June, 2026Paris, France16.18th World Nephrology Summit – Nephrology-202629th – 20th June, 2026Paris, France17.International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM) hosts- XXI.
