Ujjain: In a tragic incident, a second-year MBBS student died in a road accident in Ujjain. The incident occurred Saturday morning when he was hit by a speeding truck near the college gate on Agar Road. The deceased was identified as a 20-year-old MBBS student at RD Gardi Medical College.On Saturday, while entering the college campus, he was hit by a truck. He died on the spot due to severe injuries. However, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the accident. The police were immediately informed after the accident, and police officers, including CSP Pushpa Prajapati and Chimanganj police station in-charge Gajendra Pancharia, arrived at the scene.Following the incident, the other medical students blocked Agar Road and protested at the accident site. They sat on the road for about an hour, causing a long traffic jam in the area. The students demanded installation of speed breakers outside the college gate and strict traffic control.Officials spoke with the protesting students and assured them that necessary road safety measures would be implemented.
